Arriving in Jacksonville, Florida

Just arrived to Jacksonville, Florida, Palm Cove Marina.

  We left the house this morning at 3:30AM, and arrived without problems to the boat by noon. We are just getting organized, and resting up. Comments after enduring a 36 hour, tropical depression on the Atlantic Ocean, offshore of the coast of Jacksonville Florida. We were about 100 miles offshore. The is was one of Peter’s first time ever on a sail boat. A crazy adventurer who said it would be a piece of cake.

Perfect conditions on our offshore sail from New York to Florida, November 2008. The winds were 15 to 25 knots, on the starboard quarter, broad reaching the whole way on 5 to 8 foot swells. 929 nautical miles in 5 days and 3 hours.
