Black Diamond Departs for the Bahamas!

Departing right no schedule for the Bahamas!

 

Black Diamond has officially left the Port Credit Yacht Club this afternoon at 3:30pm, a few hours behind schedule. A little extra time loading all our supplies on for wintering in the Bahamas for the next couple of years….Currently on Route back to our favourite service depot, Navy Point at Sackets Harbour New York! Here she will get a little tender loving care, the mast lowered on to its cradle for the ride through the Oswego and Erie Canals and finally down the Hudson River to New York City, where she will stay on mooring there until mid November, when we will take her offshore non-stop, NYC to Abacos Bahamas.

With almost 30,000 Nautical miles of experience and 1,800+ sea days and nights on the water. (1,800 sea days is like 5 years on the water, 365 days a year!) I am an Open Water Certified diver and completed various CYA & Canadian Power and Sail Squadron certifications which include Power/Sailboat handling, Seamanship Sail, Piloting/charting, CYA Coastal Navigation, GPS Navigation, Extended Offshore Cruising, VHF Radio operation license and a Toronto Harbour License. I am now providing skippered charters and yacht deliveries globally, including crew positions for offshore passages.
