Living in a Travel Lift Sling for 4 days! LOL!

Can you believe we’ve been in Sackets Harbour NY, going on our fourth day now. We arrived at 2:30PM Monday, removed our sails, boom and back stays with Mark Garret’s help. Tuesday morning we were hauled out and in a travel lift sling and hanging there until Friday. Roxane and the kids arrived Tuesday evening, and we have been sleeping, showering, cooking and literally hanging out in the sling.

The service center people from Navy Point Marine have been superb, have been working hard on Black Diamond’s keel. Sand blasting, 10 coats of epoxy, and then VC 17. Diagnosing a leaking in the plumping, adding pad eyes under the boom and forward of the mast to hold our life raft and dinghy during ocean crossings.

I must say, the service staff are amazing and work really hard for us each time we are here. They pull out all the stops for us. Thank you very much to all the guys at Navy Point Marine, and I would highly recommend them to any one.  http://www.navypointmarine.com

Last thing to do is to take the mast down and secure for the Oswego, Erie Canals and the Hudson River.
